Studio photography is hinged around understanding and controlling light. Andy has a wonderful folio of a range of the most challenging subject matter to photograph. From bottles to cars, the light in Andy’s images is the backbone of stunning images.

Food & Beverage Photography
Andy has thirty years of experience working for some of the biggest names in the food and beverage industry in the state. He is an expert at lighting food, which makes his images look delectable. He brings a deep passion for cooking and food to his food and beverage photography.
Food stylist
Andy works in conjunction with Adelaide’s most talented food stylists.
Shoots can be done either on location or in a purpose-built studio kitchen*. With a vast collection of props, crockery and cutlery, as well as a significant collection of custom backgrounds to create the perfect setting for photography of any type of cuisine or cocktail.

For many years, Andy has worked alongside architects and builders to showcase their work for advertising and Master Builders Awards. Andy’s work gives a sense of how the space feels, whilst accurately representing the choices of lighting, materials, textures and the colour palette. Andy has also worked for some of the leading landscape architects in South Australia.

Working with children? Not a problem!
Andy has produced beautiful portfolios of advertising images for pre-schools, primary and high schools, as well as working with all of the major South Australian universities.
Within a few minutes, Andy knows everyone's names and has established a safe and inclusive energy in the space. The perfect ingredients to have people eager to contribute to making great photographs. He facilitates a light and enjoyable process that is both fun and productive and never seems like work.
Andy has the appropriate police checks and working with children clearances.

After the shoot;
I do a severe edit and provide a proof sheet of the strongest photographs from the shoot. You make a selection of the images you want.
I'll do the post-production of your final selection and upload the finished images in Tiff and Jpeg formats. All post-production is done in-house by Andy, ensuring the final images are consistently at the highest standard.

Automotive photography
The mix of complex curves over reflective surfaces, combined with the scale as an object, means that car photography is possibly one of the greatest challenges for a photographer. It’s taken Andy years to build this skillset that is fuelled by a love of cars that stretches back to Andy’s childhood and his youth spent working in the industry.
If you need cars, motorbikes or trucks photographed for magazines, advertising, high-end publications, right through to fine-art prints, or maybe to make your prestige car stand out on Carsales.

Andy is highly experienced in shooting reproductions of artworks of all types. From furniture, glass and sculpture, through to two-dimensional works on paper, textiles and mixed media.
Andy brings thirty years of experience lighting objects in a studio situation to best convey the colours and textures of materials in a simple and clear way.
Works can be photographed on location.

Fine Art Prints
Andy’s photographic career was born from shooting fine art photography of nature. These are works that are beautiful in their immediacy and maintain their vitality for years to come. From deep abstraction to beautiful botanical studies, his work with natural light has become a style he has made his own.
Andy has exhibited Fine Art Photography since the early 1990s and his work has been used for book covers and publications, and he has work in public, private and commercial collections. These include significant bodies of work in both Flinders Medical Centre and the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
You can commission Andy to create a body of work or make a selection from his substantial library of artwork. If the work you see on the site is close to what you like but not quite, get in touch. There is a chance that Andy has another image that's just what you are looking for.
What’s included
Andy then puts together a series of options, and the edit is refined until the right pieces are chosen. Then we do a site visit to decide on which images should go where and what size they should be to establish a cohesive rhythm to the placement of the works through the space.
