The importance of a flagship commercial photograph for a business.
Part of the planning to create a hero commercial photograph is to decide what elements, tone and style are required to make a strong impression on the target market. It’s important to know who the photo is aimed at and have some idea of how they will respond to it.
Photography. The compelling storyteller
Advertising photography is a powerful way to share compelling stories with the people who you want to take notice of your business. In essence, you want to know who you are trying to communicate with and what you are trying to say. It’s way more in-depth than getting your friend to take a few snaps.
Location car photography in natural light.
The vehicle's design is a mix of large flat areas, compound curves, overhanging wheel arches and hard edges. Light reacts in different ways across each of these different areas and surfaces. Capturing a strong photograph of all of those shapes and surfaces well takes experimentation, patience and an understanding of how light will play on the car and how best to manage it.
Industrial Photography
My industrial photography has taken me on numerous trips to remote mining facilities, water treatment plants across Australia and New Zealand, the desalination plant, Torrens Island power station and a significant number of smaller factory operations. Places that I would never have been privy to without a camera in my hands.
